일상은 축복이다, '축복' 일러스트 작업기 Creative process of 'Blessing'

2021년 1월에 신작, “축복 Blessing” 을 완성했어요.

마스크를 쓰지 않아도 되던 지난 여름날, 가족과 자유로이 한강변을 산책하던 평범한 날들이 너무 그리웠습니다. ‘일상’과 ‘자연’은 누구에게나 공평하게 주어지는 축복이죠. 그러나 꼭 지켜야 할 소중한 존재이기도 합니다. 이번 밀키베이비 일러스트레이션, "축복"은 바이러스, 기후변화로 시달린 2020년을 보내고 나서, 새삼스럽게 고마운 일상의 조각을 마음에 새기며 그린 그림입니다.

Last summer, I missed ordinary days when I walked freely along the Han River with my family with no mask. 'Daily life' and 'Nature' are blessings that are given fairly to everyone. However, it is also a precious things that we must protect. This Milky Baby illustration, "Blessing," is a picture of a grateful piece of everyday life after spending 2020 suffering from covid viruses and climate change.

디지털로 빠르게, 효과적으로 그리는 것도 좋아하지만 아날로그로 그리면 아무래도 수정이 어려워서 조금 작업하고 다시 멀찍이 보고, 고민하고, 색도 신중하게 고르게 됩니다. 영상에는 24초만에 전체 작업과정을 볼 수 있지만, 실제로는 천천히 완성한 작품이라 더 애착이 갑니다.

이 작품은 상단과 하단을 조금 다른 느낌입니다. 한강 공원에는 실제로 이 커다란 나무가 있습니다. 산책하실 일이 있다면 이 멋진 나무를 찾아보시길^^ 초여름의 노란 꽃 물결을 한강변에서 볼 때쯤, 사람과 자연 모두 건강한 하루를 보내고 있기를 기대해 봅니다.

I like to draw webtoon (comics) with ipad, which is fast and effective. Nevertheless I prefer to draw my illustration on analog way. When I draw on paper, my work process is very slow ; I draw and step back, think through it, and choose the color carefully. But you can see the entire work process in 24 seconds in this video:)

This illustration has a slightly different feeling between the top and bottom. There is actually this big tree in Han River Park. If you have chance to walk there, look for this wonderful tree ^^ By the time you see the golden flower waves of early summer, I look forward to seeing both people and nature having a wonderful, healthy day.
